Kate Ritchie and her six-year-old daughter Mae are making the most of Sydney’s lockdown by embracing the opportunities one’s home can bring: A baking storm in the kitchen.

We don’t use the phrase lightly – Kate shared several snaps from the extravaganza that occurred in the Ritchie residence yesterday, and suffice to say our tummies are grumbling at what they managed to concoct.

Sharing a cute selfie snap on her Instagram page, Kate and Mae looked to be getting busy making all sorts of goods in their home kitchen.

“Was happy to play Sous-Chef to this little monkey in our house this afternoon!” Kate wrote alongside the snap.

Kate and Mae got very busy in the kitchen on Tuesday.

In a second post, the former Home and Away actress showed off the delights the mother-daughter duo had come up with.

First course? Meatballs and pasta. The second: doughnut balls covered in sugar. And third (if you haven’t already run to the kitchen to gather ingredients to make your own), centred biscuits.

If you haven’t eaten yet, try not to look too long at these…

Kate’s fans and followers were clearly impressed with the efforts.

Fellow Aussie celeb Ricki-Lee Coulter wrote in the comments: “That looks delicious!”

Kate quickly replied, “The diet went out the window just over a week ago!”

Kate and Mae share an extremely close bond.

Another fan made a good point, perhaps a silver lining of lockdown: “Wowee looks amazing! And creating precious Mum-daughter cooking memories which last forever!”

She’s certainly not wrong.

Kate has spoken previously of her love of spending time with Mae, telling The Weekly: “My only fear is that I will become a complete hermit and never leave the house because I adore being with her. I want to spend every minute with her and talk to her.”

She’s also said Mae, who turns seven next month is “divine”.

“She’s the greatest achievement I’ve ever had and she’s wonderful.”

Looks like these two are the perfect lockdown-duo.
