Gone are the days where kids can sneak out the window without their parents knowledge, leaving nothing but a conspicuously lumpy bed piled up with pillows made to look like a human.
Well, at least that goes for celebrity chef Jamie Oliver’s kids! The British foodie has revealed he spies on his children and can locate where they are immediately via a fancy smartphone app.
Oliver and his wife Jools have five children together, with their three eldest connected to an app called Life360, which shows their whereabouts at any given time.
Speaking to Woman, the 43-year-old said the app was a useful tool in tracking where his kids were.
“The older girls, Jools and I are all on an app called Life360, which means we can see exactly where everybody is and the route they’ve gone.
“So if one of the girls says, ‘I’m going to Camden Town’ and I can see they’ve gone to Reading, then we have a problem.”
Smart move, Jamie!
The app also works the other way around, with the girls and Jools able to track all of Jamie’s movements.
“They can check on me, too, and see how fast I’m driving. It’s brilliant,” he said.
The app offers a location-based service which shows where members of your family are on a map. It can also send alerts to parents when kids arrive to or from school
The Oliver family have largely stayed out of the public eye in the past, but the bestselling chef has been particularly open about his private life of late.
He shared a rare photo of Jools and his daughter Petal to Instagram earlier this week, captioning the sweet pic with two love heart emojis.
Last week, Jamie shared a touching tribute to his son, Buddy, on his birthday. The image of the 8-year-old blowing out birthday candles was accompanied by the caption: “Happy birthday dear Buddy 8 years old !!!! Bless this boy he has brought so my joy in to our lives … Time flies”.
Jamie and Jools were childhood sweethearts and married in 2000. Their relationship is clearly as strong as ever, with Jamie telling Woman: “I like watching Jools get older. I love her more now than I ever have before.”
“I feel like my love widens and I’m enjoying her evolving as a woman, growing older. I like it – her wrinkles have been earned.”
Jamie also told The Telegraph: “Jools is an amazing mum and she’s all over it like a rash, but she also likes me to be involved with it as much as possible. Really I’m a weekend dad if the truth be told.”
Too cute! Long may the sweet insights into this adorable family continue.
