That’s why when the New South Wales government offered to lend a hand with the Active Kids rebate, it was greatly welcomed.

As of now, parents and carers of school-aged children enrolled in sport actives and teams can receive the first of two annual $100 vouchers to contribute to registration or membership fees for 2020.

At the time of the Active Kids voucher launch in 2018, then Sports Minister Stuart Ayres said the rebate will ease financial strain and allow kids to be active.

“Every dollar counts in the household budget and this is $100 back into the pockets of mums and dads so more kids can play sport,” he said.

“We’re helping to ensure families don’t have to stretch their budgets and to ensure their kids are active and healthy.”

Each school-child between the ages 4.5 – 18 years and enrolled in approved sport or fitness activities, is eligible to receive one voucher every year for the next four years. This includes those who are home-schooled or enrolled in secondary school education at TAFE NSW.

As of now, parents of school-aged children enrolled in sport actives can receive a $100 voucher to contribute to registration fees for 2020.
