A video of a one-year-old child walking the narrow window ledge of a third floor apartment has gone viral.
The footage was taken on Sunday by a neighbour who uploaded it to YouTube. Unsurprisingly, social services were then called.
The child’s family have been warned not to expose the youngster to any more danger.
According to the Mirror the child’s grandfather, who lives at the property, told social workers that there was a protective wire mesh over the window which doesn’t appear on the video but was clearly visible to reporters who visited the scene.
Social service chief Leonardo Urcini said: “We went to see the family and spoke with the child’s grandfather who is the owner of the flat.
“He said that at the moment the incident happened he wasn’t at home and the child was being cared for by a domestic worker.”
Local fire chief Wellington Amaral told the Mirror that parents should always supervise their children.
“Children want to explore the world when they begin to walk and their parents should always make access to windows and other dangerous places difficult.”
