Motherhood can be scary – and obviously not only when you’re a mum deep in the mummy mines. It’s also scary enough to inspire a Halloween costume it seems.
Social media has lit up after this was posted on Facebook over the Halloween period.
Here’s how she captioned it: “My friends daughter dressed up as a mom for halloween. Notice the spit up and dark circles under her eyes. I’m dead! This is the best costume I’ve ever seen!…I ‘d say stretch marks, hemorrhoids, and a front butt… Go Lainie!”
According to Huffington Post, the little girl-mum is seven-year-old Lainie Griffin who costume included a baby in the arms and one wrapped around her leg, dark rings under eyes, baby spew on her clothes and leisure wear.
Her mum said to Huffington Post: “Having five children at home, it gets expensive buying costumes from the store and they’re so cheaply made. We like to try to come up with ideas where we can make our own,” Jessica said.
As of today (Tuesday), the picture has received 184,000 responses, almost 23,000 comments and 13,500 shares – and it has resonated with mums around the world.
On the most part everyone has loved this and totally seen the funny side – “It’s like looking in the mirror” – except for a couple of posters, one of whom claimed it was “sick” (really?).
