Hilaria Baldwin, the wife of actor Alec Baldwin, has revealed she has suffered her second miscarriage this year.
The 35-year-old mother-of-four opened about her heartbreaking news on Instagram on Monday, explaining her four-month-old baby girl had not survived.
“We are very sad to share that today we learned that our baby passed away at 4 months,” Hilaria wrote.
“We also want you to know that even though we are not OK right now, we will be. We are so lucky with our 4 healthy babies — and we will never lose sight of this.

“I told Carmen [her eldest child] … that this baby isn’t going to come after all … but we will try very hard to give her a little sister another time.
“I’m really devastated right now … I was not expecting this when I went to my scan today. I don’t know what else to say … I’m still in shock and don’t have this all quite clear. Please no paparazzi…that’s all I ask ❤️.”
She also shared an intimate video with her daughter Carmen, which you can watch below, explaining she will “try very hard” to give her another sibling.
Hilaria also shared a raw selfie from hospital after undergoing a medical procedure.
“Eyes swollen from crying, groggy from anesthesia, crampy from the surgery…but I made it and I want you to know that I’m physically ok,” she captioned the photo.
“I’m grateful for my family, friends, doctors and nurses, and all of you who have held my hand through this difficult time. You have no idea how much this means to me. One foot in front of the other…now I begin the healing journey ❤️.”
Hilaria shared this heartbreaking selfie on Instagram following her medical procedure.

“Today didn’t go as planned. I’m very sad. Tonight is my last night with her … such a strange experience,” Hilaria wrote on Instagram, after a routine scan revealed the horrible news.

“Today opened and it was not a nightmare … just a sad reality,” she wrote.
“Thank you for all of your kind and sympathetic words. I didn’t know so many tears exist in the body. I’m trying to be present for my grief but understand that life goes on and there is still beauty, even in darkness.”

(Instagram)Back in April, Hilaria shared her first heartwrenching miscarriage experience with her 673,000 Instagram followers, offering a real-time glimpse into what she was going through in the hope that it would help others not feel so alone.
“I want to share with you that I am most likely experiencing a miscarriage. I always promised myself that if I were to get pregnant again, I would share the news with you guys pretty early, even if that means suffering a public loss,” she wrote, shining a light on the often taboo topic,
“I have no shame or embarrassment with this experience. I want to be a part of the effort to normalise miscarriage and remove the stigma from it.
“There is so much secrecy during the first trimester. This works for some, but I personally find it to be exhausting. I’m nauseous, tired, my body is changing. And I have to pretend that everything is just fine – and it truly isn’t. I don’t want to have to pretend anymore. I hope you understand.”

“The embryo has a heartbeat, but it isn’t strong, and the baby isn’t growing very much,” she shared.
“So we wait – and this is hard. So much uncertainty… but the chances are very, very small that this is a viable pregnancy. I have complete confidence that my family and I will get through this, even if the journey is difficult.”

Hilaria and Alec share four children together – Romeo Alejandro David Baldwin, 11 months, Leonardo Ángel Charles, 2, Rafael Thomas, 3 and Carmen Gabriela, 5.
Alec is also dad to 22-year-old daughter Ireland Baldwin, from his previous marriage to actress Kim Basinger.
