He has dad jokes! According to Page Six, George Clooney was overheard at the Met Gala on Monday, May 7, joking that his twins were underneath his wife Amal Clooney’s enormous dress. He was kidding, obviously, because no one at the event was lucky enough to meet their son and daughter!
The lawyer stepped out in a Richard Quinn rose-covered gown with pants underneath alongside her hubby, who looked dapper in a black tuxedo with a white shirt and black bowtie. The duo previously welcomed their twins, Alexander and Ella, 11 months, in June 2017.
In a previous interview, Amal gushed about their kids’ first words. “We’ve had some ‘Mamas’ and ‘Dadas,'” she shared with Vogue. “George was very careful to ensure that ‘Mama’ was the first word.” Too funny!
George and Amal previously tied the knot in September 2014, and both are still smitten over one another after nearly four years of marriage.
“It felt like the most natural thing in the world,” Amal previously said of their love. “Before that experience, I always hoped there could be love that was overwhelming and didn’t require any weighing or decision-making. It’s the one thing in life that I think is the biggest determinant of happiness, and it’s the thing you have the least control over. Are you going to meet this person? I was 35 when I met him. It wasn’t obvious that it was going to happen for me. And I wasn’t willing or excited about the idea of getting married or having a family in the absence of that.”
And the ER star couldn’t help but gush about his beautiful lady as well. “Of course she was beautiful. But I also thought she was fascinating, and I thought she was brilliant,” he told Vogue. “Her life was incredibly exciting — the clients she was taking on and the superhuman work that she was doing. I was taken with her from the moment I saw her.”
Here’s hoping the Clooneys attend the Met Gala as a family-of-four next year!
