Parents be on alert, for Disney has given us the first glimpse of Frozen 2 in a teaser trailer and, to be honest, it looks like things have gotten pretty intense in Arendelle.

Back in 2013 when the first Frozen film took over the world, urging us all to Let it Go, things left off on kind of a happy note. The bad guys were defeated, love conquered all when Anna and Elsa were finally reunited and Olaf never melted. It was a happy time.

Things this time around look, well, a lot darker.

While the plot (and soundtrack) of Frozen 2 remain a mystery, the two-minute preview gives us taste of what looks to be a slightly scary – in a Harry Potter kind of way – sequel to the original blockbuster. And is that a new female character we see? Who is she, Disney? What is going on?

The trailer, which has already amassed more than 4 million views in the first hours alone begins with Elsa (Idina Menzel) taking on the power of the ocean during a storm. Why she is doing this in unclear, but unlike her ocean-friendly Disney sister, Moana, Elsa is using anger and ice to tackle the sea.

Meanwhile, Anna (Kristen Bell), Kristoff (Jonathan Groff) and Olaf (Josh Gad) are also featured, each separately before coming together dramatically, with Elsa on the top of a cliff overlooking a scene that looks far from Arendelle.

The drama is palpable!

So far, no clues are given about the songs that are bound to be on repeat in the very near future, but we did get a look at some pretty fierce new fashion for Anna and Elsa.

The build-up for this release is intense, as is the trailer. The stars themselves are excited for the release, taking to their socials to help build the buzz.

Now we wait for the next release, and hopefully some more divulging of the plot.
