And this week, the proud mum joined her five-year-old son Henry as they visited the grounds of his future school.

Taking to Instagram to document their visit, the 51-year-old posted a sweet snap of the pair via her Instagram stories.

“Visited our new big school today,” the actress, who plays Marilyn Chambers-Fisher on the long-running soapie, captioned the pic.

In the photo, the pair stand in the school corridor as Emily places her arms lovingly over her son’s shoulders, while student to-be Henry beams proudly at the camera.

Last month, the mother-of-one reflected on the fact her only child was about to start kindergarten, writing alongside a mother-son selfie: “Managed to get him to stand still for 5 seconds for start of Term 4 pic! 💙 Big school next year, it’s all happening so fast! 😱💙😍.”

After a long fertility battle, the actress welcomed her “miracle” son with her then partner, Paul Jackson, in 2015.

“I very much thought it couldn’t happen and I was too old,” the star has said.

“I thought it would be impossible but it isn’t. I’d given up, really, I thought I had tried every avenue that was available to us. My advice is to not give up if you’re feeling a bit overwhelmed by the whole process.”

Adding of her heartache to try and conceive: “I spent a lot of my 30s being so anguished about not having a baby.”

But the wait was worth it and the actress says her son has taught her to appreciate the little things in life.

“Watching Henry enjoy little things like going to the supermarket in the car has made me realise that it’s these things that matter. Henry has bought so much joy with him and he’s really taught me how to enjoy my life again,” Emily explained.

Miracle baby! “I very much thought it couldn’t happen and I was too old,” Symons said of her son, who was conceived via IVF.
