When Disney+ launched a few years ago, millions of adults dipped back into their childhood favourites, bingeing animated classics like Aladdin, Mulan and more.
But there are so many forgotten gems on the platform that just don’t get enough attention, and they’re guaranteed to make you nostalgic for the ’90s.

George of the Jungle
Well hello, Brendan Fraser.
(Disney)Mums will love this movie just as much as the kids; after all, a young and hunky Brendan Fraser spends more than half of the runtime shirtless.
Filmed in 1997, the hilarious take on a Tarzan-esque story had a surprisingly star-studded cast, including the likes of Leslie Mann and John Cleese in a voice acting role.
The story follows a classic “boy meets girl, boy swings on a vine into a tree, girl falls in love” plot, but it’s fun and much more witty than you’d expect.
Plus, there are plenty of goofy moments the kids are bound to enjoy.
Rodger’s & Hammerstein’s Cinderella

(Disney)This movie was groundbreaking when it was first released in 1997, and not just for casting musical icon Whitney Houston in the role of the fairy godmother.
Singer Brandy was the first Black actress to ever play the role of Cinderella on-screen, paving the way for more diversity in Hollywood productions of classic fairytale stories.
She and Whitney weren’t the only big names on the cast list either, with Whoopi Goldberg also starring in the delightful modern retelling of Cinderella.
Not only was it groundbreaking at the time, the movie is still a great example of diversity today and well worth a watch with the kids.
The Fox and The Hound
Could this classic animated film be any cuter?

The 1981 Disney movie is a surprisingly moving coming of age story that really cuts to the core of what it feels like to grow up and grow apart.
Kids will adore the cute animation style, sweet friendship moments and beautiful score.
As for the adults – you may want to keep the tissues handy for the final act.
Treasure Planet
This 2002 flick flew under the radar.

A family-friendly sci-fi take on the classic Robert Louis Stevenson book, Treasure Island, this flick is full of heart and humour.
With an incredible soundtrack featuring The Goo Goo Dolls, a beautiful animation style and a surprisingly heartwarming story, this one is definitely worth a watch.
It will be just as popular with little girls as it is with little boys, and there are a few hidden jokes just for the grown ups.
Brother Bear
This movie will hit you right in the feels.

Drenched in Native American mythology and featuring voice acting roles from the likes of Joaquin Phoenix, it has a lot to offer.
The kids will love the comedic moments – and don’t worry, there are plenty of jokes that will have parents chuckling too.
Make sure to keep some tissues nearby though, as there are several moments that will definitely leave you teary.
