They kept their pregnancy under wraps for the entire nine-month duration.
But a month after welcoming twin daughters Lulu and Lottie into the world, ballet dancer Dana Stephensen and her fiancé Purple Wiggle Lachy Gillespie are finally giving fans a glimpse inside their top-secret journey to welcoming two daughters.
Over the weekend, Dana took to her Instagram Stories to share a selection of never-before-seen snaps from her pregnancy.
In one image, the principal dancer for the Australian Ballet poses backstage before a show in the early stages of her pregnancy clad in a white leotard.
“Opening night Volt Melbourne. Teeny Tiny Lulu and Lottie in there,” the 34-year-old penned, drawing an arrow to her stomach, which shows just the smallest hint of a bump.
In March, Dana captured this behind-the-scenes snap of her tiny twin baby bump.

(Image: Instagram)In another sweet photo, a beaming Lachy can be seen holding up two fingers in celebration of finding out they’re having twins.
“The day we found out we were having twins,” Dana captioned the shot.
Dana also posted a photo of her performing for the Australian Ballet’s Dyad 1929 show in March when she was 11 weeks pregnant with the twins, describing it as her “proudest and most rewarding moments of my career.”
“As challenging as it was to physically get through, it was very special to have these moments on stage, knowing they would be my last for some time. It was an emotional night but a totally euphoric celebration too,” the mother-of-three explained.
“This was back in March before Covid stopped everyone in it’s tracks, when we opened the @ausballet Volt season at @artscentremelbourne. The day of opening night, it was announced that the season would be cancelled after the first weekend of performances – it would be everyone’s last shows for some time,” she continued.
“We all danced like it was the last time they were honestly the most full and fulfilling performances. Lachy and my mum were in the audience on the final night and I’m so proud to have shared this with my Company and our generous audiences who came out to see these incredibly memorable shows.”
The couple shocked fans when they announced the arrival of surprise twin baby girls in September.
“Oh Lulu and Lottie, your mummy and daddy love you with all we have – you are both so beautiful – and I would love to sing to you both forever……… 🌈💜💜🌈,” Lachy wrote in his touching announcement.
Although Dana and Lachy shared the news of their engagement in April, the couple never publicly announced their pregnancy.
Dana also has a four-year-old young son, Jasper, from a previous relationship, with whom Lachy is extremely close.
The pair’s romance was first confirmed in August last year, after they fell for one another on the set of a Wiggles’ DVD special and they announced their engagement in April.
A month on from the girls’ arrival, Dana and Lachy are finally lifting the lid on their top-secret pregnancy.
