If you’re looking for a truly outside-of-box gift for a new dad this Father’s Day, Dadsie – baby-carying dungarees for dads – might just be the ticket.

Direct from the ‘why didn’t I think of that’ files, Dadsies are overalls one minute, a spare set of hands the next. The dad in your life will be nailing coffee runs, school drop-offs, airport security and life!

A new trend in paternal wear is here thanks to the launch of The Dadsie, a daddy dungaree that doubles as a baby carrier.

Noosa-based designer and mother of two Janneke Williamson is the brainchild behind this clever fashion.

After launching ‘The Mumsie‘ last year and selling thousands of overalls worldwide, Williamson was inundated with requests from customers wanting a Dad’s version too.

“There aren’t as many dedicated babywearing options for men as there are for women so I’m really excited about launching the new Dadsie. Now Dad’s can keep their precious bubs close to their chest – and look cool at the same time,” says Williamson.

Williamson has set up a Kickstarter campaign for The Dadsie to try and secure some funding for the versatile denim overalls.

While they might look just like a cool pair of overalls, hey have been especially designed to be able to wear your baby or toddler in them.

But are Dadsies really safe for carting your precious cargo around in?

“Our overalls have been independently safety tested by Intertek to meet stringent international safety standards for baby and toddler wearing,” says Williamson. “All clips have been weight tested up to 70kg.”
