Sometimes it’s not all about snips and snails and puppy dog tails for little boys, and three-year-old Caiden and his awesome dad are proving just that.
Little Caiden has gone viral in the last few hours after his dad posted a photo of him wearing his Halloween costume for this year: Elsa from Frozen.
The dad, who is based in Virginia, US, posted the photo to his Facebook, which shows adorable Caiden sticking his tongue out happily in his dress, on Monday.
“Anyone that knows us, knows we generally let Caiden make his own choices, to an extent,” wrote dad Paul Henson on the photo’s caption, “Well, he has decided on a Halloween costume. He wants to be Elsa. He also wants me to be Anna. Game on.”
“Keep your masculine bullsh#t and sl#%ty kids costumes, Halloween is about children pretending to be their favorite characters. Just so happens, this week his is a princess,” it read.
Since then, the photo has received more than 24,500 shares, making it a viral sensation.
Speaking to Buzzfeed, Paul explained he didn’t think anything of it when it posted the photo.
“I didn’t think I was doing anything out of the ordinary,” said Paul, “I woke up the next morning and I was like, ‘holy crap it’s been shared a couple thousand times’. I couldn’t log into my Facebook. And perhaps best of all, Henson said the messages he’s receiving are almost exclusively positive.”
“Support your children, love them, they look up to you as their heroes,” said Paul, “Why not help them achieve their goals?”
“Him being three, we wanted this Halloween to be his,” Henson told Refinery29, “He made the choice. We stood by it.”
And to all those who still think girls should only wear dresses and boys should only wear pants, we can only say… let it go!
