A New Zealand father has had a cochlear implant tattooed on his head to make his six-year-old daughter feel “normal”.

A New Zealand father has had a cochlear implant tattooed on his head to make his six-year-old daughter feel “normal”.

Alistair Campbell shaved his head and had the design inked onto his scalp so his little girl Charlotte wouldn’t feel like the odd one out.

“[I did it for] my love for her, really,” Alistair told the New Zealand Herald. “Hey, my hair can grow back.”

Alistair is now planning on growing his hair again, but has vowed to shave it on special occasions or at Charlotte’s request.

Charlotte has severe hearing loss and had her first cochlear implant at age four. She had her second implanted earlier this month.
