Muddy carpets, drawings on the walls and a seemingly endless pile of washing sound confronting on paper – but when it comes to the lives of our youngest trouble makers, it’s all worth it in the end.
The proof is in the rather heartwarming pudding. You’ve no doubt seen, stopped and stared fondly at some famous celebrity dads dote over their kids.
Whether it’s hilarious quips with jokester dads, to loving birthday tributes and candid reminders of the realities of parenthood, some of Australia’s favourite celebrities are open books when it comes to being a father.
So, to share the love (and, at times, giddiness), we decided to round up the best ways celebrity dads have explained fatherhood.

Prince Harry Archie
Prince Harry is clearly smitten with his adorable young son Archie Harrison, who was welcomed by the royal and his wife Meghan Markle back in May 2019.
But while the family’s future has certainly strayed from the traditional path of royalty in recent years, there’s only one thing Harry wants for his eldest child:
“Our little man is our number one priority, but our work after that is the second priority and we’re just trying to do everything we can to do our part to make the world a better place,” he previously said.
Now that the couple have welcomed a daughter, Lilibet Diana, Harry is no doubt a doting dad to both children as they enjoy time in their private life.

Hamish Blake Rudy and Sonny
If there was ever a better dad-joker than Hamish Blake, we’re all ears. Honestly, the antics the Aussie comedian gets up to with his two little tots Sonny and Rudy give us life on a daily basis.
Sharing this gorgeous montage of pics with Rudy on her third birthday, Hamish wrote: “My Rudy Bear. We may only achieve lip to lip coordination on one ninth of our kisses, but you are a shining beam of pure delight 100% of the time. You’re 3, welcome to the club kid (I kept my membership from 35 years ago).”
Chris Hemsworth
A life in Byron Bay sounds dreamy for Chris Hemsworth and his kids, India Rose and twin sons Sasha and Tristan, but he’s admitted things weren’t smooth sailing when it came to their recent home-schooling amidst the COVID-19 lockdown.
“It’s sort of four or five hours of negotiation and bribery, and then maybe 20 minutes of actual work, if that.”
Prince William
Prince William is another famous father with a whole lotta love for his little ones. Princes George and Louis, well as Princess Charlotte are growing up before our very eyes – far too quickly at that.
Of his two eldest kids, William has said: “George rules the roost and Charlotte isn’t far behind.”
And as for little Louis? Well, let’s just say the intimidating feat of raising three children under the age of ten is worth it in the end: “It’s one of the most amazing moments of life but it’s also one of the scariest,” William said.
Kris Smith Mila and Frankie
Kris Smith’s little ones Mila and Frankie are the apple of his eye – and are already taking after their model father. Sharing a candid snap of his daughters back in July, Kris revealed he’d taken them along to his latest photoshoot.
“It was beautiful shooting with my babies today for @Myer. Mila was clearly made for this, and Frankie… welllllllllll maybe it’s too much haha..” – in a second pic, the gorgeous little Frankie is seen sound asleep!
Sam Wood Willow Charlie
“The best thing about being a Dad is….BEING A DAD,” Sam Wood has previously said. He shares two gorgeous girls with wife Snez after the pair hooked up on The Bachelor back in 2015.
Thanking his wife for giving him the gift of children, he added: “I can’t remember what life was before it and I can’t imagine life without it.”
Matty J and Marlie-Mae
Sorry, but Matty J and Marlie-Mae are quite possibly the cutest duo since… well, anyone, ever.
The former Bachelor star – who shares the adorable two-year-old with his fiancée Laura Byrne – has said that Marlie-Mae is the “best thing to ever happen to us”. BRB, crying.
Matty J and Lola Ellis
After welcoming the gorgeous Lola Ellis in February this year, it’s safe to say Matty J is loving being a ‘girl dad’ to two little cuties.
“Babies are such manipulative geniuses – they’ll spend the whole night screaming so you’re perpetually sleep deprived, then wake up looking like this,” he joked in the caption of this snap.

Osher and Wolf
Osher Gunsberg is his young son Wolf’s biggest, brightest fan. The pair love exploring together, with the pair recently discovering a new favourite spot on one of Sydney’s beautiful beaches.
“Down at the rocks, learning all about the ocean how it comes “in” and “out”, learning about the onomatopoeia of “thump”,”splash”, “whoosh” and “bubble”,” Osher wrote in a recent Instagram post.
“It’s just incredible feeding this boy language and seeing how his brain grows and responds to it just like when we feed him good food.”
David and Harper Beckham
David Beckham’s youngest, and only daughter Harper takes after her dad in looks, and nature. With a middle name an ode to David’s iconic shirt number – Seven – it’s pretty clear these two share an incredibly special bond. In fact, David finds it quite hard to say no to his darling girl: “I think I only said ‘no’ to her once,” he previously said. “And her bottom lip started shivering, and I said, ‘never again’.”

Karl Stefanovic Harper
Karl Stefanovic positively dotes on his daughter Harper May.
The Today star regularly shares sweet photos with his youngest daughter, sharing this adorable snap shortly after she was born.
In June 2020, he shared the sweetest update during an impromptu FaceTime chat during his working ‘day’, which just so happens to fit right in with Harper’s schedule.
“5 am face time feeding call with this beauty. All you need is [love],” he wrote.
