When Christine Quinn got down to planning her perfect wedding she set about to picking four of her closest friends to stand beside her on her big day.
So Christine chose her very best friend – her grandmother, Nana Betty to be a bridesmaid.
“She asked me about 10 times, ‘Are you sure?’ and ‘Why would you want an old lady in your bridal party?’” revealed the bride about her request, “A few times she even said ‘All of your bridesmaids are young and pretty, why would you want me?'”
But Nana Betty was as beautiful a bridesmaid as any.
Dressed in a sweet purple gown to match the others, Nana Betty turned out to be the life of the party.
“She had the entire wedding party laughing with her words of wisdom and funny comments throughout the day,” the bride told Huffington Post, “Nana got on the party bus with the rest of the wedding party instead of ‘going home to rest’ but did not tell my mom (her daughter). She also danced the entire night away, including an adorable moment when she and my husband’s grandmother, Bellsie, danced together. It was amazing.”
“You’re only as old as you feel,” said Nana Betty, “And I feel young today.”
