WATCH: If Mums Spoke To Friends Like They Spoke To Their Kids

The BreakWomb vloggers are at it again!

This week YouTube sensation The BreakWomb gave us a giggle with a spot-on parody of ‘parent speak’.

The video hilariously shows just how absurd we can sound when we talk to our kids by dropping common ‘parentisms’ into an adult conversation.

In the clip a trio of mothers sip wine from coffee mugs, (which in itself speaks volumes about parenthood) and casually discuss the latest movies. Unfortunately for the ladies none of them can get a word in without being told off for small transgressions or randomly praised.

One mother is chided for butting into the conversation with ‘you wait until I am done and then you can talk OK?’

Another is scolded for topping-up her drink: ‘Finish the wine that I already gave you then you can ask me for more and I’ll pour it for you, OK?’

When one mother absent-mindedly picks up a used paper napkin the event is treated like a major catastrophe: ‘Don’t touch it! Don’t touch it. Now you’re dirty.’ A decontamination with wet-wipes and hand sanitiser begins.

The reprimands are interspersed with gushing praise over tiny achievements. One lady is literally applauded for picking out her own shirt and another is told randomly ‘What a cutie! Did you know you’re so beautiful?!’.

Most of all we love this video because it’s perfectly relatable. We cringe at the prospect of forgetting to switch our brains into ‘adult mode’ and making a faux pas like calling a colleague or friend ‘a very good girl’.
