NSW Central Coast blogger, Brad Kearns aka DaDMuM has had the internet in tears with his latest post, a tribute to his pregnant wife, Sarah aka Mrs DaDMuM penned after he heard her critical comments about her own appearance in family photos.
Coming home from a family outing, Sarah – who is in her fourth pregnancy – flicked through the photos they’d taken that day with a scrutinising eye.
28-year-old Brad noticed, and took to social to write: “When she finished she said, ‘I’m glad I look pregnant now and not just fat’,”
It’s a pattern he’d noticed throughout all of Sarah’s pregnancies, his beautiful comparing herself to a version of her that existed before children.
“She compares herself to the 19-year-old her,” writes Brad. “I think she still believes it’s the best version of herself.”
Young dad Brad agrees that his wife was “certainly pretty” back then, as 19-year-olds tend to be.
“She was fit. She wore make-up, her hair was always done and regrowth was a cardinal sin. Her manicures up to date and her clothes were the latest season. I have no doubt her Instagram would have been a hit.” he jokes.
He also agrees that a few things have changed since then
“She’s been broken a few times. She’s experienced loss in the finest degree and she’s regrouped to give me my two precious boys.
“Life kicks our ass occasionally and the amount of times I’ve found her by the kids cot in the middle of the night couldn’t be counted.
“She loves them unconditionally. She keeps our life together and she’s always there to support me in everything I do. ” Brad writes.
And in the line that stole all of our hearts, he finished with this …
“I’ve seen both versions too … She was certainly pretty then; but I’m sure you’ll all agree that she’s even more beautiful now.”
Can we get a ‘nawwwww’?
Our favourite DaDMum moments …
As the couple, who have been together for 10 years, get ready to welcome a new baby in October this year, we take a look at the rest of the times we’ve all fallen a little bit in love DaDMuMs refreshing take on marriage and parenthood.
That time he rushed home from work after his wife Sarah was admitted to hospital for a failing liver. He took on the role of ‘mum’ and take care of his two sons aged six weeks and two and his honest post about how tough that was earned him the love of his fans.
That time he made every working partner remember just how important the role of the stay at home parent is in a powerful message that will make you think twice about asking them, “What have you been doing all day?”
That time he learned that kids have no shame.
That time he paid tribute to all the times Sarah had to deal with the boys on her own, when he had to interrupt her night out to ask for help.
That time he schooled all the other partners on the importance of satisfying a pregnant woman’s cravings!
“She once cried over a bowl of nachos. She dead set dropped it and refused to take mine and tried to remake it with just chips and salsa because the meat was all gone and it was the saddest little bowl of nachos you ever did see and she bawled her f*cking eyes out.”
