Beautiful news for Weekend Today star, Allison Langdon as she welcomed baby #2, a sweet daughter named Scout Heather with husband, Michael Willesee Jnr, on January 9.
Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, the 39-year-old shared a sweet collage of images featuring little Scout with adoring big brother, two-year-old, Mack.
“It’s taken a few days but Mack is enamoured with his new baby sister Scout Heather, he’s decided she can stay (for now!)” wrote the new mum.
The 60 Minutes reporter announced her pregnancy in mid 2018, telling a local publication, “I’ve been great, I’ve felt fine. The usual sickness first trimester and tired but nothing unusual.”
Despite the queasiness, Langdon knew that the smooth sailing was something to be happy about.
“I know so many mates who have struggled big time with morning sickness,” she said. “So I don’t dare complain about a couple of days.”
When it comes to life with a newborn, Allison learned a few lessons parenting Mack.
“I’ve learnt I can exist on very little sleep and that I’m a pretty calm person,” Allison told TV WEEK in 2018.
“My husband thinks sometimes I’m a little too relaxed, but I think I put everything in perspective. Being a mum teaches you patience, that’s for sure.”
The happy news of Scout’s arrival came just days after the passing of Michael Willesee Jnr’s father, Michael Willesee of throat cancer at age 76.
The former host of A Current Affair endured a long battle with throat cancer which he was diagnosed with in late 2016.
Scout’s arrival is sure to bring joy to the couple, who wed during a private ceremony in Noosa in 2008, at this sad time.
It certainly looks like she’s bringing that joy to big brother Mack!
