Former Bachelor winner Alex Nation has taken to Instagram with a rather gory photo of her six-year-old son Elijah.
Though she usually shares only the cutest moments between the mother-son duo, her latest offering perfectly illustrates the candid and everyday aspects of being a mother.
Following an accident in which Elijah took a fall in his mum’s vehicle, Alex penned: “That’s one way to get the tooth fairy to come to you… Muck around in Mums car and face plant into the centre console”.
The photo that accompanies the caption shows a brave-looking Elijah baring his gums, which appear to be pouring blood.
Despite the fact that Alex appeared to poke fun with the captions “#toothfairyisbroke” and “#notsureifazombie”, her followers took a concerned approach.
“Oh nooo! Poor little man, and mummy’s heart probably stopped for a minute too. Hope he’s ok?!” wrote one follower, while another commented: “What a sight… my son would have been screaming lol… he looks proud.”

Others opted for criticising the 25-year-old, assuming her son wasn’t wearing his seat belt. “Wasn’t he wearing a seat belt?” questioned one concerned fan.
But Alex was quick to clap back, writing: “My car was stationary. Do you really think I’d allow my son to not have his seatbelt on whilst I am driving? Come on.”
The reality star, who welcomed son Elijah at age 19, rose to fame when she accepted Richie Strahan’s final rose on The Bachelor Australia.
Despite their whirlwind love on screen, Richie hasn’t shared a photo with the model since May 22.
And Alex, a regular poster, last shared a snap of the pair following them walking the Logies red carpet together back in April – the last time they were publically spotted as a couple.
