Sheโs grown up on our TV screen on shows like Heartbreak High and Home And Away.
And it looks like the showbiz runs strong in Ada Nicodemouโs family with the star telling Now To Love her eight-year-old son Johnas Xipolitas is a natural-born performer, too.
โJonas loves to perform, loves to be in front of the camera and loves to dance,โ the actress, who has played Leah Patterson on the soapie since 2000, tells us.
While the 43-year-old says she loves watching her sonโs impromptu skits and performances, she admits sheโs not too keen on him putting all his eggs in the actor basket.
โI keep telling him that he needs to go off and do something else. He was saying to me just yesterday: โWell, if Iโm not going to be an international soccer payer mum, I think Iโm going to be an actor.โ And Iโm like โOh, OK great! So one really hard industry into the other,'โ she laughs.
Having spent decades in the spotlight, Ada knows all too well just how brutal the industry can be.
โIโm more protective of him in that regard cause heโs a very smart boy and he could do whatever he wants in life but Iโm always trying to protect him a little bit from that side of the industry.
โThe problem is with a lot of kids these days is that want to get into this field because itโs about being famous and not about being a true actor,โ the mum-of-one points out.
โBut he is a natural performer, definitely,โ Ada concedes.
The H&A veteran is currently a firm favourite on the latest season of Dancing With The Stars: All Stars and admits having her partner Adam Rigby and Johnas behind her on her second spin around the ballroom trumps her first experience.
โJohnas had never seen me do anything like this before, so seeing him in the front row was the highlight of the whole thing for me,โ she explains.
โHe made all these different posters for each night, it was so cute. He thought I did an amazing job. I think itโs a really nice lesson to show your child, that I put everything into it and gave it my best.โ
