Building Memories Lego Jar

Ask your kids their favourite activities to do with Daddio.

Neatly write the activities onto Lego pieces using a black marker.

Pop the lego pieces into a glass jar and make a “Building Memories with Dad” tag. Dad can then choose a Lego piece and complete the activity with their young one.

DIY photo shoot

Set up a little photo shoot at home. You could use a chalkboard to write “I heart you Daddy” or use one of your own ideas. Print off the image and frame them. Ta-da! A keepsake Papa Bear will cherish.

Best Dad Hands Down t-shirt

Using coloured paint, your little ones press their handprint onto a plain white tee.

Use a marker to add the name of the child/ children and neatly paint the words: Best Dad Hands Down. It’s a wardrobe staple he will wear for years to come!

Love, your little peanut

Dad will go nuts for this one- LOL.

Tie a packet of Peanut M&M’s in the centre with a hair ribbon. Then secure the packet to a card with the words: ‘Happy Father’s Day! Love, your little peanut.’

Another fun photo idea using a chalkboard.

This time ask your kids why they love their dad and write their responses on the sign.

Create a photo collage using an app and on Father’s Day share it on your Facebook and Instagram page. Don’t forget to tag the “man of the moment” in the photo.

Dad pancakes

Making Daddy breakfast in bed? These DAD pancakes covered in sprinkles will hit a sweet spot.

My handy Dad

Create a ‘hand’ self-portrait of Dad. Paint your child’s palm with flesh toned paint and your child’s fingers with a hair colour paint (see pic) and press onto a card. Wait for the handprint to dry.

Next, paint your child’s palm a colour for the shirt and your child’s fingers a different colour for the pants. Wait until it’s dry.

Cut-out a tie from coloured paper and glue it on.

Use a paint brush to tidy up the image – adding ears and hands – and a black marker to add the face and stripes to the tie.

Yoda best dad!

If Papa is a Star Wars fan, this handprint Yoda card will be out of this world.

Paint your child’s palm green and fingers brown. Press handprint onto a card and wait until it dries.

Use a black texta to draw Yoda onto the handprint. Use a paint brush to add Yoda’s green ears and hands.

DIY tie rack

Older kids will be able to nail this (geddit!?) but younger ones will need help.

Hammer the tips of nails into a plank of wood. And voila! Dad now has a useful tie-rack.

Love You To Pieces frame

Now this is a cute gift to piece together!

Glue four coloured craft sticks together to make a square frame shape. Glue on some puzzle pieces. Set up a cute photo op with your kids holding a sign with a Heart You To Pieces! sign and pop it in the frame.

Toilet Roll Card

Who knew a toilet roll could be transformed into something so creative?

Your child draws a self-portrait onto the roll, making sure the hands are held upwards. Or an easier option might be taking a photo of your kid with their hands in the air and printing it off.

Then, using some of your child’s artwork you have filed away, create some signs like DAD, YOU’RE RAD! and HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!

Use scissors to cut two slots at the top of the roll where the signs can be placed.

My Dad Rocks box

A safe place to store his cuff links or loose coins? Every Dad does need a trinket box.

Use wood craft sticks and craft glue to build the box and the separate lid.

On the lid, use puff paint to write: My Dad Rocks and glue a rock into the centre – this will be the handle to lift the box lid.
