13-year-old speaks out after suffering hideous bullying for years
Bullying and harassment can destroy lives.
People of any age are potential victims of the horrors of bullying, and those who are hit the hardest are often children and teens.
Tia Coker William from Perth is just 13-years-old and has been both physically and verbally abused by bullies for years – but Tia has had enough.
Speaking to Seven News, Tia reveals that she was viciously attacked on Sunday while waiting for a bus and that was the final straw for the young woman.
She reported the attacks to the police and decided to speak out about the abuse.
Visibly distraught, Tia unsuccessfully attempted to hold back tears in the interview saying, “It’s all fun and games for them until someone really gets hurt.”
“I just sit in my bedroom and cry because it will never stop,” she said.
Tia’s mother called the situation a mother’s worst nightmare and revealed Tia was told their house would be burnt down if she spoke out about the abuse.
Living with bullying can easily take it’s toll and cause the victims to take extreme measures to escape.
Earlier this year, an Adelaide teenager tragically took her own life after allegedly being bullied at school and abused online.
Libby Bell’s devastated family paid tribute to the 13-year-old who was a surf lifesaving champion for Moana Surf Life Saving Club.
“She had a million-dollar smile, her face lit up the room, she just had a beautiful smile — that was our Libster,” Libby’s uncle Clint Gow-Smith, 39, told Adelaide Now.
