Duchess Catherine’s royal tour of Scotland has been a whirlwind of activity, fanfare and very apt wardrobe choices.

While the Duchess’ style is usually understated, modest and chic, Kate’s jazzed things up a little for the Northern UK country by adopting one of its most iconic timeless trends – tartan.

From royal blues to bright reds, the Duchess is going all out for the country that is known for its scenic charm and centuries-old architecture.

Of course, it’s part and parcel for royals to wear clothes that reflect the country they’re visiting – in Kate’s instance, she’s a country chameleon.

For their final stop on their royal tour of Scotland, Duchess Catherine pulled out her favourite designer, Catherine Walker to see it off at a special Beating Retreat complete with Scottish dancers and bagpipes. The cobalt blue coat dress was a royally perfect way to end it.

After four busy days touring the country together, including the very place they first fell in love, William and Kate proved their bond was stronger than ever – spot the PDA!

Just before the Beating Retreat, Kate had a sweet Princess moment with a young cancer patient, wearing this gorgeous ME+EM gown. Young Mila was also dressed for the occasion, wearing a matching pink frock. More on the beautiful moment here.

Tennis the Lawn Tennis Association’s (LTA) Youth programme

Earlier in the day, the Duke and Duchess visited the Lawn Tennis Association in Edinburgh. Kate looked precisely the part in a white cable knit jumper and her old favourite Superga sneakers.

But wait, there was one more! In her first of four outfits of the final day, Kate and Wills made a quick visit to Starbank Park. The Duchess wore a stunning moss green ensemble. The chic Massimo Dutti blazer martched her straight-leg pants – dressed down with her Superga sneakers.

Tartan

Queen of the tartans Kate Middleton looked stunning in this perfect navy and green Marlborough Trench Coat by Holland Cooper (worth a cool AUD$1,500, might we add) for a special screening of Cruella at Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh. The event took place in the evening of the third day of their joint tour.

The Duchess’s dreamy trench featured large gold buttons and a belted waist. She also added a pair of stunning sapphire earrings which are on loan from The Queen.

Earlier in the day, the Duke and Duchess enjoyed some special time together visiting the very place they met, the University of St Andrews. There, the Duchess went nautical in a jumper and shoulder-padded jacket with golden buttons. She also wore a pair of Veja sneakers for the occasion.

But wait, there was more! She actually started day three in another glorious country-Kate worthy outfit. The Duchess wore a pink jumper over a pie-crust collared shirt. Her trust skinny jeans and lace up boots were also a winner.

On day two of Kate and William’s Scotland visit, the Duchess dressed down for the afternoon – again in her favourite skinny jeans and boots. She also wore a green hooded jacket, with her hair in its iconic half-up-half-down style.
