Myer continued its theme of bringing the sunshine to the masses last night at Circa in Melbourne with a glamorous, star-studded parade which saw celebrities like Vince Colosimo, Michael Klim, Myer’s Racing Ambassador Rebecca Twiggley, Laura Newton lining the golden-paved catwalk to catch a glimpse of what 2009 holds for racing fashions.

Myer’s Director of Apparel Judy Coomber introduced a mix of Australian and international Myer designers including Rebecca Taylor, Karen Walker, Cue, Jayson Brunsdon, TL Wood, Tara Jarmon, Moschino Cheap and Chic, Wayne Cooper, Maticevski and Yeojin Bae, and featured lots of metallics, silks and bright colours for Myer’s Spring racing parade. Coomber also announced that the infamous stylist, Patricia Fields, would be creating an exclusive capsule collection for Myer for the Spring racing season.

The style tips for the racing season? Judy Coomber says, “This year it is about elegance and a more coordinated look with a big hint of fun. For the girls, silks and ruffles and maxi dresses will make a big statement on the track while the pillbox is making a feminine comeback.”

And for the men? “For the men, slim-line suits should be coordinated with lots of accessories including braces and hats of course. Men should not be afraid to wear bold prints and colour. That is the strong message for the Spring racing season”, says Coomber.
