Their impeccable taste in holiday destination, of course.

The Isle of Capri has long been the playground of the rich and famous and within minutes of our hydrofoil dropping us off to the bustling marina, it was easy to see why…

Everything is ridiculously ‘grammable

From the endless walls of bougainvillea, the winding cobblestone footpaths, the cute old ladies hanging out on street corners and the glamorous designer shopping strips – Capri is one photogenic island.

It’s no wonder James Packer and Mariah Carey picked it as the stunning backdrop to debut their ill-fated romance back in 2015.

The food is next level

Capri serves up some of the best Italian fare, with a strong influence from Naples which is just an hour away. It’s famous for its caprese salad, Arancini balls, mussels, seafood linguine, anchovies and cuttlefish.

For traditional southern Italian cooking with a buzzing atmosphere, Michelin-starred restaurant Mammà is highly recommended. Work your way through their innovative tasting menu (shout out to the potato gnocchi with seafood sauce and their Spaghetti with vesuvian tomatoes) as you look over the Bay of Naples.

It’s always mandatory to try The Best Pizza in Town. so head to Aumm Aumm in Anacapri for the most authentic wood-fired pizza you’ll ever try. You know it’s good when the locals go there for their Friday night dinners. Swing past Ristorante La Zagara for a pre-dinner spritz during happy hour.

For a totally authentic stay, book a room at Relais Villa Anna in Anacapri. The charming family-run bed and breakfast sits on a lemon grove garden and every morning the talented owner Valentina cooks up the most delicious spread – her home-made cheesecake is legendary and makes for the ultimate breakfast-dessert.

Luxury on the cliff

For the proper A-list experience Capri’s luxurious Punta Tragara, which is part of the exclusive Small Luxury Hotels of the World group, makes for a truly unforgettable stay.

The hotel is nestled on a cliff-top and overlooks the Faraglioni Rocks and Azure Sea.

But it’s not just the post-card worthy views and five-star service that make you feel like Mimi on tour, Punta Tragara is decked out with two stunning pools overlooking the ocean, a gin bar in between so you can pool hop with a G&T in hand, a state-of-the art spa, a gym and two restaurants (more on that soon).

That’s if you can even leave your room! The hotel has over 44 unique suites to choose from, each featuring stylish decor, unbelievable views, waterfall showers, marble floors and the comfiest beds. The split-level apartments mean you can spread out and really make yourself at home, while waking up overlooking the Mediterranean from your pillow-laden cloud bed is a once in a lifetime moment.

Book yourself an 8:00pm sitting at the hotel’s award-winning restaurant Monzu and ask for a table on the veranda on the quieter side of Capri with the hoards of super-yachts parked in the bay. Chef Luigi creates the most mouth-watering dishes including a pasta with broccoli, clams and tuna. You can team it with matching wines or wash it down with Brangelina’s famous mirval rose – their marriage might be kaput but their booze lives on.

Beaches, boats and grottos oh my!

No trip to Capri is complete until you have sailed around the island.

So book yourself a local boat at the marina to take you around the island and of course the famous Blue Grotto. To get the famous landmark (almost) all to yourself, wait until after 6:00pm after the crowds have come and gone. You can swim in the stunning natural wonder without the riff raff of peak hour.

He might have abdicated the throne but King Edward and his wife Wallis Simpson still enjoyed all the trappings of luxury- including glamorous trips to Capri.

If the open water isn’t your thing, you might prefer the best beach on the island, Lido Faro, which literally translates to Lighthouse Beach. The cute little bay is on the Anacapri side of the island and easily accessible by scooter or the local bus that runs every ten minutes.

Capri also offers some of the prettiest walks, which open up to amazing lookouts.

But if you really want to brag on Strava, you can walk to the highest point of the island, Monte Solaro, which rises to 589m and the view at the end makes it worth hour-and-a-half sweat fest.

For the non-hikers, you can catch the chairlift up the hill, which leaves from the centre of Anacapri.

The best way to take in Capri’s natural beauty is by boat.
