Paws for a minute and think, ‘Are you having a ruff time selling your home?’
Well, one Queensland real estate company is taking a rather dogged approach to the property market.
Tiny pooch Tiffany, a shih tzu cavalier cross, has been hired because she’s got a good knack for attracting potential real estate buyers. She’s teamed up with her owner, Remax United Vision real estate agent Tracey Ashley to help sell pet-friendly homes.
“Tiffany knows when it’s time to go to work and she loves being in front of the camera,” Tracey told Domain about her pup appearing in the real estate ads.
“We get her to dress in the appropriate way to represent the property. If it’s an exclusive-type home, then we’d dress her up like a princess, that sort of thing,” she says.
The five-year old pet even likes to make an appearance at the open houses.
“It really makes people’s day and they get a good laugh out of it,” Tracey says.
And while the pooch is mostly well behaved, her professional career hasn’t been without its mishaps.
“One time she nearly ate a client’s dinner that was left out. Luckily she didn’t, but she was sniffing it getting ready to,” Tracey says.
“Another time, when we first started bringing her into homes, we were feeding her a lot of treats, she had diarrhoea in the backyard.”
But the pup’s realtor record stacks up.
“We had two similar properties hit the market, one of them didn’t have Tiffany in the photos, and the other did. Tiffany’s ad had double the hits on it, and the home sold for more than the other.”
Tracy told news.com.au: “A lot of people are looking for pet-friendly properties, so these photos are a great way of communicating that easily.”
