It’s that time of year again when we start to wonder, just how early is too early to put up Christmas decorations?
While it may still be a little early for a lot of us to actually start decking the halls with boughs of holly, there’s no harm in knowing what the Christmas decorations of the season are? Right?
Of course not!
Check out what’s hot in Christmas decorations for 2017 thanks to decorating experts, Spotlight.
Contemporary Christmas
Will you be having yourself a Contemporary Christmas?
This year we’ll be following the lead of our Nordic friends and leaning towards lots of white and frosted textures.
These should be matched with two colour palettes.
One sees a soft mint, pastel green paired with a luxurious rose gold, the other consists of deep navy and bright silver, completely blowing the nordic monochrome stereotype out the window.
Try a white tree matched with mint green and rose gold decorations or a rustic wooden table with a navy and silver table runner for a very modern take on Christmas.
You can go wrong with simple frosted white lit up with strings fair lights.
Merry & Bright
Merry & Bright is one of the most luminous ways to decorate your home for Christmas.
Lots of hot pinks, electric purples and cerulean blue accents make a spirited counterpoint when paired with white, silver and gold.
It’s fun, festive and a great chance to let your imagination and artistic flair run wild, as Spotlight says, “more is more” with this Christmas theme.
Think about incorporating various textures like tin and faux fur.
Traditional Christmas
While most decorating trends may come and go, nothing fills you with the Christmas spirit more than a traditional decorating scheme.
This year’s classic Christmas theme will see lots of vibrant reds, forest greens and touches of burnished gold, backlit by a crackling fire, frosted windows and softly falling snow. Well, maybe not that last bit, but we can dream!
Pair these colours with traditional Christmas must-haves: a green tree, stylish rustic decorations, traditional wreaths, natural timber finishes and brown paper wrapping.
Classic never goes out of style.
