Matt Damon is apparently moving his whole family over to Byron Bay – right next door to his best buddy Chris Hemsworth.
Someone needs to give Chris an award for being such a shining beacon for international tourism, especially since his role in the recent internationally acclimated Crocodile Dundee advert (which was merely a guise for an Aussie tourism campaign).
But word is, it’s not Chris we should be thanking for the Damon family’s move down under, it’s Donald Trump.
According to a Page Six source Matt Damon, a vocal environmental activist, is telling his friends in Hollywood that he’s moving his family to Australia because he doesn’t agree with the US president’s policies.
Matt is also reassuring everyone that the move won’t affect his work.
“He will travel to wherever his projects are shooting. He’s also telling friends he wants to have a safe place to raise his kids.”
Matt Damon and his family were holidaying in Byron Bay with fellow Hollywood hero Chris Hemsworth, his wife, Elsa Pataky, and their cute brood in April last year.
But instead of giving the Damons a ripper of a holiday, the good old ‘Strayan wildlife had other ideas…
Matt Damon’s daughter Stella, 6, had a bit of a run-in with an Aussie stinger.
She was stung in the water at The Pass Beach. The Hollywood hearththrobs were forced to call paramedics to tend to poor little Stella.
The Courier Mail reports Stella’s screams could be heard before she rushed into shore.
She was treated by paramedics on the scene and comforted by her parents, Luciana Barroso and Matt Damon.
