Whether it’s a spillage on the carpet or a splash down your front, red wine lovers know the curse of a stain all too well.
But after one genius young woman’s life hack, it turns out that a red wine stain on an all-white outfit doesn’t have to be a recipe for disaster. In fact, it can become a viral fashion sensation!
Eleanor Walton, known as El to her friends, was attending the Ripon Races in the north of England with some friends when a racegoer spilled their red wine down her white jumpsuit from online store Pretty Little Thing.
“Would u believe someone spilt red wine all down my white outfit so my work girls SOAKED MY JUMPSUIT in the sink so now i have a red jumpsuit ahahahaha xx” the Leeds local tweeted.
El’s friend Mia Williamson also took to Twitter and revealed, “so we’re 2 hours into the races, and el comes and tells me someone has spilt red wine down her… no problem. Got some more red wine and fixed it and I think we’ve just made a new product to PLTs festival range.”

According to El, she stripped down in the toilets while her friends splashed her entire outfit with extra red wine in the bathroom sink and placed her under the hand drier to dry off their masterpiece. And seeing as there was an open bar, there was no shortage of supplies!
“I don’t know what part of my brain told me this was the reasonable solution,” El joked online.
El even messaged Pretty Little Things to “get us on the design team asap” and ever the good sports, the team behind the company replied retweeted Mia’s tweet saying,”Safe to say that wasn’t a ‘pour’ decision 😱🍷💞👏👏👏”
