Forget avocado toast because McDonald’s Australia has just launched the Big Brekkie burger and breakfast fans around the world can not keep from sharing theirs jealously on social media.
The fast-food chain describes the new menu addition as “a warm, crisp hash brown sandwiched between melting cheese rasher bacon and a freshly cracked egg. Finished with a 100% Aussie beef Patty and a generous dollop of BBQ sauce between a toasted sesame seed bun.”
The burger has been released alongside other brekkie favourites like the Smokey BBQ Brekkie Roll and the Mighty McMuffin.
Coming in at 3330 kjs, it’s one of McDonald’s most calorific breakfast choices.
Despite that, burgers lovers are no doubt drooling right now, and the frustration at not being able to get their hands on the burger is too much for some people.
The news follows the announcement that McDonald’s will soon remove cheeseburgers from its Happy Meal in an effort to minismse the calories, sodium, saturated fat and sugar that kids consume while visiting their restaurants.
If that news was a bitter burger for the kids to swallow, the fast-food giant also plan to remove chocolate milk as a drink option in a Happy Meal.
McDonald’s explained it wants all its Happy Meal options to have 600 calories or fewer and 650 milligrams of sodium.
So if health is your game, we’d be avoiding the Big Brekkie Burger and the Cheese Burger?
Except on days which end with a Y, obviously.
