Emirates Stakes Day, the final Saturday of the Melbourne Cup Carnival, is arguably the most enjoyable event on the spring racing calendar. The dress code‘s a little more relaxed, the vibe is garden-party chilled… and family members young and old are encouraged to get amongst the fun.
Cheese, wine and good company aside, there’s an additional reason to get excited for the big day on the field this year, and that’s a family trip to Dubai, courtesy of Emirates.(!!!).
To get in the running for the overseas adventure, all you have to do is register for the Fashions on the Field competition, which always takes place on the traditional family ‘Stakes’ day.
The style brief is ‘fashionable and fun’, and you’ll need to bring your best strut for the runway, too. Don’t freak out — you don’t have to do it alone. There are five competition categories to enter — Junior and Senior boys and girls, and a Family competition — so the whole gang can get involved and contribute to the win! Check out the terms and conditions here.
If you’re not up for earning best-dressed accolades and an epic holiday this year, bring the kids for a day of family fun. They’ll love hanging out in The Arcade, where they can boogie down at the silent disco and enjoy arcade games and face painting. It’s really a day every member of the family will enjoy, so make sure you make it down!
