We’ve been in awe of Sophie, Countess of Wessex’s style since she joined the royal family, but her latest look definitely stands out from the crowd.
Whilst attending the biennial Rifles Awards Dinner in London, the wife of Prince Edward chose to steer away from the unofficial dress code of black and navy and wowed in a bright blue gown for the black tie event.
Sophie’s bright, floor-length gown featured a square neckline and was accessorised with diamond floral earrings, a diamond brooch, as well as a glittering sequinned blue clutch bag.
The fashionable royal mother-of-two kept her makeup natural and wore her blonde locks in a low bun.
Also attending the function were The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, The Duke of Kent and Princess Alexandra and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, the latter of whom was appointed as The Rifle’s Colonel-in-Chief last year.
The role was previously filled by Prince Philip, who held the role since the Regiment was established in 2007.
In October, Sophie stood out from the crowd with her fashion when she donned a Loewe Anagram-belt leather midi dress – a style not often seen in royal circles.
The Countess of Wessex donned the unusual frock for an event held at St James’ Palace to mark the 20th anniversary of 100 Women in Finance – an initiative of which the royal is the global ambassador.
