Queen Letizia has wowed in yet another chic outfit that bucks royal tradition – and it’s a style staple we’ll all want in our closets come summer.
Stepping out with her mother-in-law Queen Sofia and two daughters, Princess Leonor and Princess Sofia, the royal foursome soaked up a balmy night in Mallorca, Spain.
The dress code was effortless elegance and Letizia stole the show in a printed mini dress from budget brand Zara, the frock retailing for just under $60. Tragically it’s only available on the UK site.
The style runs short, according to the Zara UK website, and showed off the royal’s toned legs which had been bronzed by the summer sun.
She paired the pink and white design with $190 pink espadrilles from Clooui Spain and a patterned clutch, accessorising with simple gold hoops for a casual evening out with family.
Letizia’s two daughters were also dressed in Zara, Leonor donning a $60 blue printed shirt dress while Sofia looked sweet in a cream cut-out style.
The royal duo have long been taking style advice from their mother, who is widely regarded as one of the most fashionable royals in Europe.
With summer in full swing in the northern hemisphere, Letizia has been making the most of the warm weather in a series of printed dresses and affordable outfits fans can’t get enough of.
Her latest outfits have bucked royal tradition as so many of them are from affordable high-street outlets like Zara and Mango, brands that are rarely spotted in royal wardrobes.
Royal women have always seemed synonymous with expensive luxury brands, but in recent years there’s been a shift that has seen ladies like Letizia, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge and more embrace affordable styles aligned with what the women who admire them wear.
But that’s not the only reason Letizia’s style is considered to go against some of the older royal fashion traditions.
In the past, royal women have been expected to dress modestly at all times, covering their legs and shoulders; but those days seem to be over.
Not only did Letizia just step out in a thigh-baring mini style, just last week she appeared with husband King Felipe VI of Spain dressed in a printed off-the-shoulder maxi dress.
With all that in mind, it’s no wonder she’s turned into a modern royal style icon who inspires royal fans to replicate her chic looks.
