For fashion-fanatics and royal watchers the world over, there’s one thing about the Queen that we can all safely agree upon – she loves a pop of colour.
Just a quick glance at the outfits she wears over the course of a month will do the trick in convincing you.
From bright greens and blues to dusty pinks and zesty yellow – our reigning monarch knows how to rock all the colours of the rainbow.
But in a surprising revelation, it seems there’s a lot more than just a plain love of colour when it comes to making her key wardrobe choices.
In a new interview with Paul Burrell, who was the Queen’s former butler, the intriguing way she is primped and styled has been revealed, and suffice to say our minds are blown.
In an interview with Yahoo, the former staffer explained that Her Majesty has assistants who will literally sketch out clothing options from her wardrobe on the top floor of her home, which are then brought down to her before she heads out.
Not only this, but Burrell explained a genius hack that’s involved in the whole process: “Her dresser will bring down in the morning two outfits, which are sketched with pieces of material clipped to them so that the Queen can remember whether it’s silk or cotton or wool.”
How nifty is that?!
The method certainly saves the queen a trip upstairs, and in actual fact, means she never even sees her wardrobe with clothes in it!
Going by how on-point her beautiful outfits always are, we can’t help but applaud the Queen’s eye for style – she clearly has a good sense of what fabrics and colours look good on her.
That said, we can’t imagine any colour not suiting our trendy pal Elizabeth!
The Queen is also known for her love of accessories. Her array of Launer London handbags are case in point.
In fact, it was recently revealed that the Queen uses the fashionable arm accessory for something very unexpected – sending secret signals.
According to a report from The Telegraph, the Queen’s small black handbag is used to send discreet messages to her surrounding staffers.
By placing the bag on the table in front of her, the publication claimed the Queen is signalling to staff she she wants to leave in five minutes.
As for when she places the bag on the floor? It’s game over – the signal reportedly means her conversation has become a little dull and she’d like to abort mission ASAP!
It is also understood the Queen carries a number of ‘good luck charms’ with her wherever she goes, with each one associated to her four children.
A toy dog and horse, as well as family photos, are reportedly among the memorabilia.
And in slightly more morbid news, it was recently reported that the Queen travels with a supply of her own blood.
This is in case the Queen is in an accident and requires a speedy transfusion of sorts.
Seems our reigning monarch is prepared for every scenario, and she certainly looks good while doing so!
