Crown Princess Mary of Denmark can pull off quite literally everything – even a wedding dress on a casual date night.
Yep, in a moment that took many of us by surprise, our favourite royal fashionista was spotted in Japan wearing full-blown bridal couture for her date night with husband Prince Frederik, and she pulled it off like no other.
The Danish royal lovebirds have visited Japan to attend the official enthronement of Emperor Naruhito, where they were joined by a number of other international royals, including Prince Charles.
The event was a true spectacle for those in attendance, and many of its regal guests chose to remain in Japan for a little while longer to make the most of the overseas trip.
For Mary, she did this in the most glamorous way possible.
Stepping out at a cocktail party before attending a banquet hosted by the Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe, Mary was oozing glamour, wearing an ivory gown later revealed by Hello! to be by none other than renowned wedding dress designer Maria Fekih.
The beautiful midi design featured capped sheer sleeves embellished with gold polka dots. The former Tasmanian-turned royal decided to clinch her waist with a belt made of the same sheer fabric.
To finish, Mary wore her hair in a wavy up-do, and whacked on a pair of gorgeous drop earrings. Utterly divine!
The Copenhagen-based designer certainly has a knack for creating heavenly wedding dresses in unique silhouettes.
On its website, the brand describes its designs as “minimalist and sophisticated,” as well as adding a small dose of “whimsical and playful” – we’re absolutely getting those vibes from Mary’s gorgeous frock.

The Danish royal has experienced quite the winning fashion streak of late, having worn a slew of breathtaking outfits for her various royal-related engagements over October.
Visiting Paris earlier this month on a three-day tour, Mary wowed fashion-enthusiasts the world over by stepping out in several heavenly ensembles, including a gorgeous blue ball dress that featured capped sleeves (perhaps one of her favourite styles?) and a sheer high neck.
While in Japan, Mary has also added two more divine designs to her fashion-forward collection.
At the enthronement ceremony, Mary was seen wearing a beautiful lilac gown, which featured cape-like sleeves and a jewelled neckline.
Later that evening, the Crown Princess changed into a stunning pink frock, which was elegantly detailed with shimmering cape-sleeves.
Ever the glamorous royal, Mary added a beautiful dainty tiara to top things off.
There’s no denying it – this Princess is the picture of perfection.
