While it is Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex who are more commonly heralded for their iconic fashion moments, they are not the only royals known to rock a fabulous fit.

In 2021, the Queen’s only daughter, Anne, Princess Royal, 72, was named the hardest working royal. And it’s not hard to see why. In just that year alone she attended 387 official engagements, beating her older brother Charles by two.

Royal observers have long admired Anne for her work ethic and the way she has followed in her mother’s footsteps in upholding the ethos of the monarchy.

Throughout her engagements, Anne – much like The Duchess of Cambridge – has been known to re-wear her outfits even decades apart.

And just as she’s replicated Her Majesty’s work ethic, it seems the Princess Royal has taken a royal leaf out of her mother’s book when it comes to fashion.

In a 2022 exclusive with The Australian Women’s Weekly, the royal said: “The Queen and I had a discussion the other day about the difference between fashion and style and I think maybe that’s relevant in the sense that she didn’t do fashion but she certainly does style, and style tends to last longer. You have an individual style and it’s a quality which has a long-term value.”

So, just what is the 72-year-old’s individual style? We’ve rounded up her 10 most iconic looks to find out.
