We’ve seen her grow from TV’s girl next door to screen siren and now Michelle Williams has made the leap to smouldering fashion model in a new campaign for Louis Vuitton.
The 32-year-old actress has made her modeling debut and given a rare behind the scenes glimpse into the goings on behind the lense on a high fashion campaign.
In a behind the scenes video released by the designer, a smouldering Williams compares getting into character for her model moment to preparing for a film role.
“It’s like falling in love,” she says during the shoot.
“I fall in love with characters like falling in love in life.”
Pouting, laughing, and taking instructions from photographer Peter Lindbergh, the actress has taken to her first major role as a brand ambassador to the classic brand the same way she prepared to play Marilyn Monroe in the 2012 biopic.
“I don’t try and mastermind it, I hope to try and stay very present and open to what is moving me in the moment, and generally that tends to be something that’s challenging. If it’s not challenging, then why do it?” she said.
“I started working on Marilyn a year before we started filming.
“The more time you put into it, the more naturally it will come. And ultimately the easier it will make my job, the more free it will make my job, because my head won’t be thinking.
“So I like to take a lot of time to prepare.”
The actress, known for her launching role in TV series Dawsons Creek, Brokeback Mountain, and more recently as the sexy screen legend in My Week With Marilyn, is currently filming Suite Francaise, a romantic drama based on the novel by Irene Nemirovsky.
Fronting the Louis Vuitton autrumn/winter 2014 campaign, which promoted the French fashion house’s latest handbags, Williams worked with hairstylist Sam McKnight and make-up artist Stephane Maraise as well as famed Vogue photographer Lindbergh.
