At this year’s Met Gala celebrities brought their most fashion-forward (aka crazy) looks to the red carpet to delight us all. This year’s theme is ‘Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between‘ which for non-fashion folk basically means Japanese-style avant garde, inspired by the label of renowned designer Rei Kawakubo.
It’s only the second time the costume institute gala has honoured a living designer (the first being Yves Saint Laurent in 1983) and the A-list have really brought their A-game in celebration.

Katy? Is that you under there? The 2017 Met Gala co-host Katy Perry fully embraces this year’s the theme in a scarlet John Galliano for Maison Margiela gown complete with veil.
Katy paired the sweeping dress with a chrome headpiece.
Jaden Smith turned heads when he arrived clutching his recently shorn-off dreadlocks, smiling through his sparkly grill.
Kendall Jenner wore a dress (if you can call it that?) made out of 85,000 crystals by La Perla Haute Couture Collection and didn’t leave much to the imagination.
Lena Dunham wore a very puffy Elizabeth Kennedy tartan print gown with chunky boots.
Helen Lasichanh and husband Pharrell Williams are both wearing Commes des Garcons outfits, and Helen has clearly chosen comfort over glitz and glamour this year.
