Pop icon Madonna has sold some of her most iconic items of clothing at a celebrity charity auction.

The singing superstar donated a selection of garments to go under the hammer at the Icons & Idols: Rock n’ Roll auction in Beverly Hills, and they certainly proved to be a big hit, with collectors from around the world bidding up big to get their hands on a piece of Madonna memorabilia.

The wedding dress she wore when she married actor Sean Penn in 1985, only to get a divorce four years later, sold for a whopping $81,250!

But it was the jacket she sported in the 1985 comedy “Desperately Seeking Susan” which fetched the highest amount of $252,000.

And for that pink frock and stole she rocked in the1984 ‘Material Girl’ video, well, that was also raked in the big bucks, selling for $73,125.

Other big-seller items included the dress she wore in the film “Evita”, which sold for a staggering $15,000 and her “A League of Their Own” uniform, which sold for $31,250.

Meanwhile, souvenirs from Elvis, Michael Jackson, John Lennon and other music legends were also up for sale during the two-day auction.
