Duchess Catherine and summer dresses go together like peas and carrots – but lately, she’s clearly been vibing another style, and you can bet we’re taking notes.
Like most of us, the 38-year-old has spent a lot of 2020 in a state of lockdown, which has meant her array of covet-worthy outfits have been few and far between.
When the world began to emerge from that original lockdown, we were finally privy to Kate’s 2020 fashion edit in all its glory – and while there were plenty of her iconic summer dresses, we also noticed another go-to style.
Indeed it looks as though the Duchess has taken a particular liking to trousers – of all silhouettes.
Her most recent engagement was case in point.
Attending an event with a scouts group in West London, the royal’s new gig was formally announced alongside some colourful imagery from the outing.
Now named as the Joint President of the UK’s Scouts, a role she holds alongside the Duke of Kent, the Duchess opted for a very on-brand look to coincide with the day’s activities.
Wearing a blue button up shirt and vest, along with her signature Chloe boots, Kate opted for a trusty pair of skinny jeans.
And of course, it was only a few weeks ago that Kate also wore a pair of glorious pink trousers (a recycled item from Marks & Spencer) to an event in Battersea Park in London.
And before that, she visited a local garden centre in June wearing yet another pair of dark skinny jeans.
We don’t blame her – she pulls them off like a certified pro.
Now given Kate is practically the precedent on trends and style at any given time, we reckon this is a pretty sound cue to get stuck into our own trouser-shopping-extravaganzas.
And if you’re after some inspiration direct from the Queen of Chic Kate herself, we found some affordable match ups to get you started.
