Duchess Catherine is forever wearing outfits we’d love to recreate within the minute.
From glorious gowns to chic shirts, not to mention her oh-so-cool capris, we’ll always be enamoured by the Duchess’ wardrobe.
That’s why when her latest video call from lockdown came to light, we were far too keen to work out exactly what designer item she was wearing.
Shared via Kensington Royal’s social channels on June 23, Duchess Catherine appeared in a new video alongside Duchess Camilla as they made a video call to staff members and a family who have been supported by a UK-based children’s hospice.
The call came in line with National Children’s Hospice Week, of which both Kate and Camilla are deeply involved with given their patronages with several hospice organisations in the UK.
In the emotional clip, the 38-year-old royal is seen in her family home Anmer Hall where she has been self-isolating with her three young children and husband Prince William.
Immediately, one thing stood out – Kate’s gorgeous green outfit.
Of course, like many of her video calls that have gone before, fans were immediately on their phones researching exactly what item of clothing she was wearing.
Was it a top? A skivvy? A fine knit jumper? A dress? The options were endless.
Sure enough, we could trust these die hard royal (and fashion) fans to come out with the goods – it’s since been revealed that her green ensemble was in fact a frock we’ve all seen before – though you might have to stretch your minds back a fair bit to remember.
Named the ‘Maja’ dress created by Belgian designer Diane Von Furstenberg, the Duchess previously wore the dreamy green get-up back in 2011 while she was visiting Los Angeles.
The dress was a particularly special one as she wore it during one of her first royal tours alongside Prince William shortly after their April 29 wedding that same year.
At the time, the world was watching Kate with high anticipation and intrigue as she slotted into royal life like a certified pro.
The green dress, which features a tie at the waist, three-quarter sleeves and finishes just above the knee, was the cherry on top of a perfect first chapter in royal fashion.
Being the fashion enthusiasts we are, we couldn’t help but research our own dupes of Kate’s heavenly dress.
Can you blame us? It’s the perfect style to wear as we enter the cooler months with its sleeved design and versatility – whack on a pair of tights or high boots with it in winter, or wear with pumps or strappy shoes in the summer and it’s a winner all year round.
