Australian Fashion Week – Wednesday highlights

Crowds were treated to a full sensory experience at the Easton Pearson show on Wednesday night with romantic lighting and a catwalk lined with asiatic lanterns to set the mood of the stunning show to come.

The design duo’s ‘Rainbow Coalition’ collection focussed on a vibrant colour palette with rich textures rendering a South American feel to the collection.

Accessories were bold and inspired by nature.

Bright fushias, cobalt blue, canary yellow and a multitude of colours of the rainbow made Easton Pearson’s collection one of the most visually stunning of Australian Fashion Week yet!

Volume was the order of the day with layers and layers of tulle and trasparent colour giving an elegant feel to this collection.

With a career spanning over a decade in the Fashion Industry Melanie Cutfield wowed crowds with her muted tones and wearable, yet elegant collection at RAFW on Wednesday.

Sheer fabrics added to the muted tone of the show, layered over colours to make the shapes and beautiful fabrics the focal point of the collection.

Pretty pastel pinks, dreamy greys and clean ivories complimented the toned down 50’s influence that took shape in waisted skirts, belted dresses and pretty blouses, pieces that many could easily see fitting into their wardrobe.

Soft neutrals have been a dominant trend on the catwalk this year, and Melanie Cutfield’s show was no exception.

Coral was the one strong colour that was slotted in with the tonal shades, which was complimented by the stylish matte lipstick on the models a beauty trend that is making a splash in the back-lash to the years of nude shiny gloss.
