Chinese New Year Celebration Day
Welcome in the Year of the Rat at one of Sydney’s largest Chinese New Year celebrations, which is in its 22nd year and is bigger than ever with a stage in Chatswood Mall and at The Concourse, from 9am to 4.30pm on Saturday February 1.
Attracting over 8,000 visitors, the celebrations include magic shows, face changing and Chinese Opera.

Sydney’s most opulent venue is ringing in the Lunar New Year with a festival of the senses.
Visitors to The Star Sydney will be wowed by spectacular free entertainment of ribbon aerialists, stilt walkers, lion dancers and more.
Foodies are also in luck with traditional and modern menus serving up 7.3 tonnes of noodles, 118,000 oysters, 7.4 tonnes of prawns and over 30,000 dumplings!

“Lucky Chatty” Lunar New Year Dinner with Adam Liaw
Join author, television presenter, and Asian cuisine expert Adam Liaw for a delicious dinner at Chatswood’s General Chao to ring in the Lunar New Year at 6:30pm on Wednesday February 5.
Feast on a festive menu of auspicious and creative dishes specially designed by Adam and Son Sewoo, Executive Chef of General Chao.

Karaoke Climb
Sing in the Year of the Rat on top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge!
This special climb features a karaoke station 134 metres above the harbour with a song list featuring all your favourites (available in Mandarin and English).
Karaoke climbers will also receive good fortune red pockets and lucky red flags as they ascend to the Summit, and at the Base, snap a selfie for a chance to win goodies.

Join the fanfare as the Chatswood CBD comes alive with a traditional Lunar New Year street parade from 6.30pm on Saturday February 8.

Sydney Lunar Festival
The City of Sydney will be hosting its biggest ever street party with more than 100 events celebrating this year’s Lunar Festival.
Experience outdoor art exhibitions, colourful markets and the famous dragon boat races at Darling Harbour, and be entertained by Seoul’s number one b-boy group, MB Crew.

Melbourne Chinatown
Celebrating the city’s cultural diversity, the streets of Chinatown will come alive with red and gold.
