Louis Evans, 22, from a small town in Suffolk, England, was ridiculed throughout his school years for his ginger locks, freckles and acne.

He graduated with his self-esteem at an all-time low but was โ€œdiscoveredโ€ by a modelling scout two years later and is now one of Europeโ€™s most successful male models.

Ironically, his flaming locks โ€“ the cause of so much grief for so many years โ€“ are the very reason he is so popular, with ginger models being in high demand in the fashion world.

โ€œIn places like Milan, Spain and Greece they adore red heads and put them on a pedestal,โ€ Louis says.

โ€œI like to think itโ€™s the fact Iโ€™m slim, tall and have the face thatโ€™s got me noticed, but I think having red hair does make me different.

โ€œBack at home there were stereotypes about gingers and I had the wrong kind of attention.โ€
