Her experimental marriage to Jono Pittman ended in disaster and since her split, Clare Verrall hasn’t shied away from slamming the reality show and her ex.
Most recently, the self-confessed “reality TV graveyard member” put her wedding dress up for sale on eBay while simultaneously labelling Jono a “total wankpuffin.”
“Stunning Designer Wedding Dress As Seen On Married At First Sight Season Two,” the Melbourne local penned in the descripon, before adding “Worn for one day while marring a stranger who turned out to be a total wankpuffin,” Clare penned on the auction site.
While Jono has remained tight-lipped over Clare’s public attacks, season one favourite Zoe Hendrix, who is expecting her first child with her TV hubby Alex Garner, has come to Jono’s defense.
Taking to Instagram the soon-to-be mama penned an impassioned note asking Clare to stop airing her grievances so publicly.
“Jono is not a bad guy And after the most recent slander of him from his ‘ex wife’ (in the interest of selling her wedding dress?) I need to get this off my chest,” Zoe’s post began.
“Ok so it didn’t work out with his match for season 2 of MAFS and there are many reasons for that. He wasn’t perfect but neither was she.”

Zoe also pointed out that there are always two sides to each story.
“He has been gentleman enough to not air his exes dirty laundry to the public . And iv met Jono and there are some interesting events that he has chosen to keep private.”
“On the flip side the ongoing personal attacks to the public from his ex are both unfair & unwarranted.”
“Would we think it was ok if the roles were reversed and a guy was constantly shaming or attaching his ex in this manner? (I don’t think so)”
“Instead of getting bitter why not get better? His moved on and so should she. #letitgoletitgo #youliveandyoulearn #andstophatingontheshow #marriedatfirstsight @jonopitman19,” her post concluded.
Earlier in the year, Jono and Clare’s romance came crashing down on national television.
Zoe’s plea is just the latest update in a dramatic turn of events for several of the cast members spanning across multiple seasons.
Last week season’s two star Jono and season three beauty Nicole Heir, who have both split with their on-air partners, fuelled dating rumours after a string of cosy pictures of them were posted on social media.
“New friends and new adventures,” Nicole penned next to a loved up shot with Jono.

Meanwhile, Clare recently stepped out with Nicole’s TV husband Craig Keller.
“Keller and I are just getting to know each other. We’ve met up, he did stay here at my house,” Clare explained to Mamamia of the complicated love square.
“He came down for my birthday, which was nice. He’s rough around the edges, but so am I! He has a very kind heart.”
Season three beauty Nicole and season two star Jono have been enjoying each other’s company.
