Game of Thrones fans will no doubt be flocking to the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney today for a landmark behind-the-scenes exhibition of the smash-hit HBO TV series.

Only in town for a brief five days, from 1st- 5th July, the exhibition features real costumes and props from the show including dragons, swords, severed limbs and the famed iron throne.

Star of the show Liam Cunningham (aka Davos Seaworth – right hand man to Stannis Baratheon) was in town last night along with a few local celebrities to celebrate the launch of the exhibition.

Check out the photos from opening night and don’t forget to go and check out the exhibition yourself – but be quick! It’s only on for a strictly limited time.

The iron throne seems smaller and less intimidating in real life!

Visitors to the exhibition can experience what it’s like for the night’s watch to “ascend the wall” on a ride that simulates what it’s like to ride up and down on the rickety hand-pulled elevator
