Australia Day 2019: Where to watch the fireworks in Melbourne

Melbourne loves to turn it on every Australia Day, hosting a stunning fireworks display along the harbour.

This year, the fireworks will be released from various barges on Docklands Harbour at 9pm.

There are plenty of awesome spots to catch a glimpse of the beautiful show. Most councils will strongly recommend that you leave your car at home and take advantage of public transport.

We’ve found five of the best free vantage points to watch the fireworks with your family.

Australian Open

If you’re lucky enough to have scored a ticket to the Australian Open on Saturday night, you’ll be treated to a fantastic view of the fireworks from Rod Laver Arena following the Women’s Singles Final. (Image: Getty)

Treasury Gardens
