To say that 26-year-old Jennifer Ginley’s life has changed dramatically would be an understatement.
And that’s because the self-dubbed “serial failed-dieter”, who says that, in the past, she had to ask for a seatbelt extender on a plane, managed to lose an incredible 61kg of her 167cm frame.
According to the Daily Mail, after finishing high school as a “fairly average-sized” 18-year-old, Ms GInley says her time living away from home at Manchester University in the UK saw her gain so much weight, she found herself crying over the fact that she “looked so unhealthy”.
Not only that, but looking at photos taking on a family holiday to the US made Ms Ginley see herself in a whole new light.
“’One picture of me with the Little Mermaid, my favourite Disney character, actually made me gasp,” she remembers.
It was this realisation – and the fact that she felt she had to tell her partner of 11 years not to propose to her until she got her health on track – that was the catalyst for Ms Ginley to adjust her lifestyle.
So, in May 2015, Ms Ginley went to Slimming World meeting in Liverpool in the UK – and that is the day her life changed forever.
‘Before Slimming World I wouldn’t eat any breakfast or prepare any lunch or snacks for work, so I always found myself eating whatever I could lay my hands on, shop-bought sandwiches, packet noodles, chip shop meals,” she says.
Now she eats more regular meals, including fruit, stri-fries, crust-less quich and even chocolate!
Leaving her 122kg weight in the past,Ms Ginley says she feels like feel “a butterfly, emerging from my cocoon”.
