Young woman who begged doctors to test cancer now dying of the disease

Instead, she was given anti-anxiety medication.

After noticing changes in her breasts, 27-year-old Laura Saull went to see her GP to get tested. Instead, she was told she was “too young” to have breast cancer, and sent away with anti-anxiety pills as the prescribed cure.

Fast-forward six months and the true diagnosis was confirmed. Laura had stage-three breast cancer and had to immediately go through chemotherapy and radiotherapy. The cancer spread though her chest, spine, ovaries and brain.

In a horrible twist of fate, Laura is currently undergoing what her 42-year-old mother, Janet, died of. Janet battled the disease for eight years and lost her fight when Laura was just 11.

Laura has now had both her breasts removed and is suffering from stage four of the disease.

Speaking to The Sunday Mirror, Laura said: “I feel like they have taken my life away from me and I now have a death sentence. They have sentenced me to the battle my mum had.”

She’s now urging others to get checked and to always trust your gut instinct. “Cancer does not pick and choose age,” she said. “I believe if they had caught my cancer a year before they did, it would not be terminal at this point.”

Despite her battle, Laura remains brave and full of hope. “It is what I have been given. We will fight this and I will try and get through each day, however ill I am, with as much joy and laughter – and as many inappropriate jokes – as I can.”
